In this tutorial am going to teach you how to create flash buttons with rollover effect.

Steps:

• Open a new flash document with a background colour of white.
• Create a rectangle shape with rounded corners. Before drawing rectangle set the corner's arc value at 5[see fig (a)].
• Fill the shape with linear red & black mixed gradient colour.
• By selecting the shape click gradient tranform tool and rotate the colour by 90° and reduce the height to approximate value which should look good. If you want to know how to rotate the colour means check on this page.
• So the shape should look like on below fig (b).
• Now convert the shape in to a button symbol.
• Double click the button and create a keyframe under the frame name "over".
• Now select the gradient transform tool and select the shape under "over". Rotate the colour by 180°. So the red goes up and black came down.
• Now get back to scene 1 and create a new layer, name it as "Font".
• On the font layer write the text "Navigation" with colour #CCCCCC and convert it into movie clip [see fig (c)].
